The Second Amendment

I'm not going to hide the fact that I am a member in the US Navy Reserve and the National Rifle Association. This is a reflection of my belief in the United States of America and her defense.

I will note that on the Second Amendment a number of concerns.

With passage of SR397, lawsuits against the American firearms industry will now become extinct. The firearms industry, via the patent system, have always made firearms free from defect. In fact the only defects in firearms come from abuse, neglect, and mishandling: all user, not manufacturer, concerns.

Because of a recent Supreme Court ruling: shooting ranges and clubs, where firearms are legally and safely used in a recreational setting, could come under pressure to close. This pressure will be from lawsuits abusing the various noise/environmental/land use laws and ordinances and completely ignoring grandfather and eminent domain laws.

Efforts to limit ownership and sales of firearms should be construed as anti-constitutional. If a law is in contradiction to the Second Amendment (yes! that 'infringement' word), that law should be taken off the books .
